St. Michael’s Convent School, ITI Township, Mankapur, Gonda District, Uttar Pradesh, is a Co- educational English Medium School, established on 01 July 1985 by the Catholic Diocese of Luknow, a registered charitable and religious society in collaboration with the management of ITI Limited, Mankapur , the Digital City of India. The members of the Founding Committee were the then Bishop Most Rev. Alan de Lastic, Mr. S.K. Khanna, Director, Mr. N.N. Singh, DGM (P&A) and Mr. S. C. Sinha, Personnel Manager. The School imparts modern quality education primarily to the wards of the personnel of ITI Limited and to the deserving candidates from outside the ITI townshop, depending on the availability of seats in the class.

The School made a humble beginning with 190 students in Classes LKG to V, 10 Teachers and 12 Non-teaching Staff, under the leadership of Fr. S. Sequeira, the First Principal. On 04 October 1985, Mr. K.P.P Nambiar, the Chair-man and Managing Director, ITI Ltd inaugurated the main building of the school. The school got affiliation with CBSE Board, New Delhi, on 01 April 1990. The first batch of students of class X appeared in the Board Examinations in 1991-92 and in the same year the Pre- Primary section of the School become a separate institution with the name Little Flower Nursery School . The Scouts and Guides Movement was introduced in the School in 1994, with the motto – ‘Be Prepared’. The school got affiliation with CBSE Board for Class XII in April 1994 and the first batch of Senior Secondary students appeared in the Board Examinations in 1995 -96. The Catholic Diocese of Luknow managed the School till March 1994 and on 01April 1994, Bhartiya Bhavan took over the management with Mrs. Aparna Singh as the Principal and Mr. S.P. Singh as the administrator. They managed the School till March 1999. Thereafter the management of the School once again went into the hands of the Catholic Diocese of Luknow.

Since 05 April 2010, CST Fathers of the Little Flower Province Gorakhpur, with the permission and patronage of the Bishop, Catholic Dioceses of Luknow, had been managing the School in collaboration with the Management of ITI Ltd until 31 March 2015. At present, St. Michael’s Convent School is one of the most prestigious institutions in the Region under the management of the ITI Ltd, having more than 2000 students and 90 Staff members. The school celebrated its Silver Jublilee in 2010 - 11

The School follows the CBSE pattern for Scholastic and Co-scholastic activities. The Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) was introduced in Class IX in 2009-10 academic year and Classes I to X in 2010-11 under the guidance of CBSE. St. Michael’s Convent School has been selected for the Mentoring and Monitoring of other Schools and in turn SMCS is being monitored and mentored by Fatima School, Gonda.

In the year 2015, CST Fathers of Gorakhpur ended their agreement with ITI Limited Mankapur. Since 2015 onwards, school is managed by the Vidyalaya Management Committee (VMC) appointed by ITI Limited, Mankapur from time to time.

The autonomy to administer and manage Little Flower Nursery School and St. Michael’s Convent School shall rest with the Vidyalaya Management Committee (VMC) constituted by ITI Limited Mankapur.
